So apparently it's pudding week this week. And here I am, eating a bowl of chili and tomato pasta with peas. How fitting. LET THE PUDS NOT BE SPUDS.

- My laptop sorted itself out just in time for the start of the episode. There is a god.
- In conclusion, everyone seems to be bricking it.
- Are they going to ask them to make a school cake... OH MY GOD YES. Steamed School Pudding for the first challenge. Delish. I know it's not steamed but my favourite (primary) school pudding was peach crumble with custard and it was heaven.
- Fig, ginger and honey flavouring thingamajigs for Sophie's pudding.
- Noel's a stodge-extermination expert. No stodge while he's around. Hide yo' stodge.
- Mmmm. Yan's using mango, which sounds pretty cool for a steamed pudding ingredient.
- Oh yes. I've never been sure about Kate but now she's making a Mr Darcy themed pud, in particular the steamy rather saucy dripping white shirt lake scene (which I definitely have not watched at least 12 times).
- Liam is making something with cherries. That's what I heard. Ah, and so is Stacey, who's practised her pud SEVENTEEN TIMES. I'm praying for her success honestly.
- While Julia was just talking about her orangey pud, we just found out that she has a husband. Still think Noel has a shot. Maybe.
after all, this apparently happened - Lemon and blackcurrants for Stephen. Oh geez, he's got a syringe. He's gonna inject his magic into the pud. Have I just accidentally created a brilliant Bake Off innuendo..? Yeah maybe 'brilliant' is exaggerating slightly.
- HISTORY BIT! Sandi's going back to uni (Oxford to be precise) and chatting about steamed pudding's early days.
- An equally posh woman is now mushing yellow liquid into some dough. Oh it's a Cambridge pudding apparently.
mmmmm..... well that looks DIVINE - Back to the kitchen and Victoria is exhaling with gusto. She's now celebrating. Not sure what these puds are meant to look like but some people are wooping, including Stacey and Julia, who just got hugged by Noel. YEP THERE'S STILL LUVIN' POTENTIAL HERE FOLKS.
and PREVIEW: Julia made a rather cute looking pud - Stephen's wacked his syringe out and Yan's shaving her mangoes.
- Dununununun, violins violins, dunununun. And it's ad break #1. Time for me to finish off the cake I made (with help from a very skilled chef) at the weekend (for those interested, it's a jaffa orange loaf which is delicious and you can find the recipe here).
- I'm back and I've microwaved it so the chocolate orange topping has melted slightly. U jelly.
- James' presentation is rather splendid, as Prue would say. What she actually says is that it's not great but it's good.
- Sophie's is too stodgy, while Stephen's has gone down a storm and received a Paul-shake.
- Kate didn't do so well but Yan! Yan got a handshake! Yessssssss. Really want some of that mango pud now.
- Now the Bakewell rivals. Liam's was too stodgy, but he got offered a Fielding Fondle so what more do you want.
- Is Stacey going to get a handshake??? WILL THERE BE THREE P-SHAKES?
- YEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSs
- Now that excitement's over, we're onto the technical.
- ....they're staggering the start times. Is this to avoid cheating/copying?
- Anyway the challenge is molten chocolate pudding with peanut butter filling... Easy right?
- Sounds like Paul wants the goo. Well Julia's started off on her own...
...and now Sophie's entered the tent. This must make filming a bit easier, at least at the beginning anyway. - Chocolate milkshake Liam, commence your puds. I don't know why I'm assuming he's great at everything with chocolate just because he makes chocolate milkshakes.
- Stephen's in, and he hasn't a clue. And now Yan, who's alright because she's made molten chocolate puddings before. At least someone's relatively calm. For now.
- Baker number 6 is Kate. Number 7 is James. And finally Stacey walks in. She's trusting her gut.
- Like for Stacey in the last challenge, I'm hoping Yan's previous practice gives her a well deserved advantage.
- Oh god. So they're meant to be cooked for 10 minutes and Kate reckons 35. Erm. Cool.. alright MOVING ON.
- Stephen, no! Not 25 minutes!
- James says 8 minutes and Yan thinks 10, they're definitely in with a better shot then.
- Arh this is so weird - Paul and Prue are in the tent but facing away from all the bakers. And the bakers can't listen to their feedback. Weird I tell ya.
- Julia's were good, Sophie's were particularly appreciated, and Liam's too (despite him thinking they were under-baked).
- Stephen's looked excellent, but the peanut butter wasn't up to scratch. Oh nooooooo neither was Yan's! Seriously under-baked and waaay too much goo.
- Yep. Kate's puds are seriously over-baked. Interesting... James' were a flop too.
arhhhhhhhhhh - It doesn't feel like it's going to be Stacey, although they weren't terrible.
- James came SEVENTH, oh yikes. And Yan in sixth. Julia in third, Liam in second and Sophie in first! Liam is rather chuffed.
- "It's not the end of the world, it's a pudding." Kate telling it like it is. With this jaffa orange loaf, though, I beg to differ. It may* change the world. *not
- Now it's the showstopper. I spent the last ad break breathing and thinking about my Milkybar dessert yogurt that's sitting in the fridge.
- And it's jelly pud/trifle time. The main task is one slice of the pud has to look as good as the entire thing. Lots of different flavoured jellies. Raspberry, orange, pineapple and rum, lemon and lime. Yeeeees.
- Patriotism all around: Andrew's making the American flag, James is going for Great Britain. And Sophie's pud includes yuzu curd. This one isn't patriotic, it just sounds cool.
- The look on Noel's face after he's managed to mention the Mighty Boosh is something of dreams.
- I would describe Stacey's pud but I can't. There's not enough time for me to type it all. A lot of ingredients in summary.
- Liam's using blondies instead of sponge, which sounds awesome but I'm not sure how they'll work with jelly. In fact, his jelly doesn't seem to be setting.
*whyyyyyyy* - If Julia does well, it'll be a miracle. She's never seen a trifle before.
- Kate is now going to get inundated with offers for dates. Call her agent Sandi on 0875-BAKER-L0V3 for an appointment.
- They're releasing their chilled puds from their moulds. James' Union Jack is looking pretty impressive, as is Yan's Hero pud.
- And the time is UP! Liam is... not okay. Maybe things will go better than expected for him after the break.
- It's judgin' tiiiiiime. Sophie's up first and she's smashed it. Maybe she'll snatched SB this week.
- Yan's gelatin work is brilliant. Some tips here and there from the P-dawgs but overall a good pud.
- Ma girl Victoria Coren has aced it with extra originality points on top. And Kate's done very well too. So far so good.
- Ahhh, James' pud has taken us on a slightly sickly decline. And Julia's.
but how pretty does it look though - As for Stephen's, it looks magnificent: but the judges have deemed it far too rubbery. Now for Liam's dessert which he already thinks is a disaster.
- Chai flavour, tick. Brownie, half tick. Jelly, massive cross. Arrrrh.
- Julia nooooooo. Julia thinks she's going... DON'T LEAVE US DEAREST SIBERIAN QUEEN AND TREASURER OF NOEL'S AFFECTIONS :'(
- The judges are praising Sophie, Stacey and Kate at the discussion table. It feels like Paul has faith in Liam's potential. Maybe he won't go. By his tone of voice, it sounds like Julia might be leaving after all...
- Okay here we go. Sandi's announcing Star Baker... it's Sophie! Hooraaaah.
- And leaving this week is... James! Ohhhh. But Julia... and Liam... I'm so glad they've got another shot.
