A usual Wednesday for me and usual thoughts of " I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE WEEKEND!"
Just watching the NTA Awards makes me want to work in TV. Seeing the joy that people get out of it makes me smile - like anything it'll be hard work but events like this celebrate shows and presenters and bring it all *together*. To be honest, I love watching all awards ceremonies and can't wait for the Oscars.
I think it's something about the anticipation to find out who wins but also the excitement and the feeling when the film/show/person who you think should win actually does... that last reason is common for people who support a sports team. Sport isn't my forté, so I guess sitting around on a sofa is how I make up for that. ;)
Saying that, I did do training this morning! Exercise really is making me feel much better about myself and I recommend that if you're reading this and ever find yourself:
- feeling a bit low/negative
- lacking energy
- eating a tonne of cake
get out there and walk in the fresh air/cycle/jog (especially if no.3 applies, fellow cake-lover). Wherever you live, you shouldn't be worried about people seeing you exercise outside. Your first thoughts might be something like "MY FACE WILL BE ALL RED AND EXHAUSTED-LOOKING"
but most likely if people see you like this they'll be thinking "Wow, they've worked hard, good for them," and probably "I need to do that! In fact I will. TONIGHT! Thank you, physically-fit citizen!"
Personally I find Pilatés a great exercise to do. For you home junkies, it's perfect because you don't have to leave your house/bedroom/flat - you can even close the curtains if you feel you need the privacy/zen-like atmosphere - all you need is an exercise mat (advised to avoid discomfort. trust me, I tried Pilatés once on the floor and my back hated me for days on end). A DVD is a great way to motivate you. It includes essential warm up and cool down techniques, which are needed for any exercise, and also provides awesomely peaceful music to fall asleep work out to.
I'm still working on the whole 'eating-well' thing, but hopefully I can convince myself to drink more water, eat more fruit and veg and consume less fatty/sugary foods.

Volunteering was really great today - I met some lovely people and I admit I was nervous before the session, an understandable feeling for anyone in a totally new situation, but it was totally worth it and I recommend helping your community in any way you can as it will do great things for both them and you.
I also didn't have to pay for the bus today as the lady in front of me broke the ticket machine - score!
May the force be with you,
Rhiannon x
